Marianna is a highly experienced Physiotherapist working with children and their families. She graduated with a BSc from Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Marianna had the opportunity to work at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Ohio USA where she developed her skills in numerous conditions including musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory. She later specialised in children with neurological conditions and received a MSc in Paediatric Physiotherapy from UCL, London, UK.
Since 2016, Marianna has worked across a range of paediatric physiotherapy services in London, including the NHS and the private sector. She is currently a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist at Homerton University Hospital, where she leads the Gait, Orthotics, and Hip Surveillance clinics for children with neurodevelopmental conditions. She also plays a pivotal role in outreach programmes across Hackney, supporting parents with concerns about their children’s early development. In her most recent role as Homerton’s Lead for Hackney Neighbourhoods, she collaborates with local partners to tackle health inequalities and drive community-focused health initiatives.
Marianna’s approach is holistic and child-centred. She supports babies, children, and young people with neurological, developmental, genetic, and chronic conditions—helping them to participate in the activities they love and improve their quality of life. She has extensive experience in special schools, early years intervention, and complex neurodisabilities.
Throughout her career, Marianna has actively contributed to research, service development, and the mentoring of junior physiotherapists. She continually invests in her own professional growth, having completed numerous specialised paediatric courses. Most recently, she became a qualified yoga instructor—a journey that unexpectedly deepened her therapeutic practice. She now thoughtfully incorporates yoga-based movement and mindfulness into her physiotherapy sessions, supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Balancing her time between the NHS and private practice, Marianna is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate care that empowers families and helps children reach their full potential.
